Picos is a coach with a strong foundation in Mental Health - using strength training and recovery systems to nurture a resilient mind. His mission: help clients connect with and define the emotions that drive their journey, fostering a deeper sense of purpose. Secondly, enhance psychological well-being through rigorous training, inoculating the client with stress, and presenting the opportunity to practice the 4 pillars of mental toughness. Lastly, making time for intentional recovery. Using tools like Sauna, Cold Plunge, Journaling, or grounding in nature, the client will find thresholds within recovery days where they will have to employ mental discipline.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Picos graduated from St. Edward's University with a Bachelor's in Psychology. Coursework in cognition and behavioral neuroscience sparked an interest in examining the psychology behind the obstacles we face with our bodies and the decision-making process.
Picos works with clients who value detailed, effective, and private training programs. With a track record of over 400 client-athletes to include sports-specific programs in competitive swimming, powerlifting, CrossFit, military prep, & running. Having trained various body types and athletic levels, Picos offers practical, results-driven strategies tailored to individual goals (all clients are given detailed programs and notes of every session. Make no mistake, you will have tangible evidence of your progress.)
Since opening a private gym in North Austin in 2020, Picos has transcended industries and opened equities and options portfolios, and has vertically integrated into a private equity role outside of personal training. With fond memories of a childhood growing up in East and South Austin, he hopes to soon open a private studio in East Austin. With experience as a competition pistol shooter, a gym owner, and an options trader, Picos brings a diverse skill set and a focused approach to the concept of fitness and its psychological integrations. He stays active by running or rucking on the "Hike and Bike" Trail, when in Austin...and when in Puerto Rico he enjoys the life of the island: Janguear, Chinchorreo, y perrear.
